We’re all on this weight loss journey, but it doesn’t have to be drudgery – it can be fun! And fun equals gummies!

Hi I’m Jan D’Atri! And this is clean eating, the Red Mountain Way.

Gummy worms, gummy bears, fishies, turtles, honey bees, hearts and cowboy boots! With these gummies, you can indulge, because they have very few calories and lots of health benefits. It only takes a couple of ingredients and gummy molds to make these sweet treats.

Here’s how to do it:

You’ll need some silicone molds, like these cute gummy worms and bears. And by the way, look for molds with the eye-dropper. This makes it so much easier to fill. Or, you could use candy and chocolate molds.

It’s important to note: a light coating of zero-calorie cooking spray will help to release the gummies.

Now you’ll need some unflavored gelatin, and your favorite flavors of five-calorie Crystal Light™. Gelatin has no fat, cholesterol, or sodium; it’s mainly composed of collagen and water. Collagen, being a major building block of skin, bone, and muscles; we start losing collagen at age 20, so these are very good to snack on.

You can also make gummies with sugar-free Jello™.

For the first batch, in a bowl, add 3-4 one-oz envelops of unflavored gelatin. The more gelatin, the firmer the gummies will be, which makes them a lot easier to remove from the mold. Add a couple of teaspoons of Crystal Light™. Add hot water, whisk until everything is dissolved. Then, use your dropper or small spoon to fill the molds to the top. For hard gummies, you can coat a candy mold with spray and fill the mold with the gorgeous red gelatin.

Now, let’s make gummy worms! For that, I’m using sugar-free Jello™. I added one packet of gelatin, just to give the gummies more structure. Pour your hot water into the bowl, and whisk to combine. Use your dropper to fill your mold to the top.

I was really surprised to find the benefits of gelatin! Beneficial minerals like calcium, magnesium, and phosphorus found in gelatin, help improve skin, and build strong hair and nails – so it’s great for anti-aging. Gelatin has also been found to heal leaky gut and improve inflammation, as well as help arthritis, allergies, and hormone imbalance. It’s also known to have anti-cancer and anti-stress properties.

So with the green gelatin, I’m making fishies, turtles, and cowboy boots!

Once you fill your molds, the secret is to refrigerate and let the gummies set for 6 hours overnight. And then just pull them out – and delight in the fact that you have gummies, just like store-bought! I love these little gummy bears, what a great treat for you and the kids.

Remove the gummies from all your molds, the fishies, the hearts, the rest, and then once you have all your gummies made, you can find cute, decorative candy bags, and fill them with your yummy gummies. Yum!

Dieting doesn’t have to be drudgery, a recipe like this can be so fun! Hopefully, it’ll get you grinning on your amazing Red Mountain Weight Loss journey!
