Tirzepatide is a glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) and glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide (GIP) receptor agonist. It works by acting like GLP-1 and GIP, two hormones naturally released by your body after you eat to help you control blood sugar. Tirzepatide works to help you lose weight by:

How long do tirzepatide side effects last?
Everyone responds to tirzepatide differently. For some, typical side effects like nausea, diarrhea, and low appetite might get better with time. If the side effects from tirzepatide are bothersome, talk to your RM Medical Provider. They might be able to lower your dose or switch you to a different medication (such as semaglutide). Since tirzepatide lingers in your body for a few weeks after your last dose, some side effects might take longer to resolve than others.
Does tirzepatide cause hair loss?
Hair loss wasn’t a side effect reported in clinical studies of tirzepatide (Mounjaro), but it’s still possible. However, some experts believe losing weight too quickly can cause some hair loss.
