What Is Semaglutide?

How Does Semaglutide Work for Weight Loss?
Semaglutide mimics a hormone called glucagon-like peptide-1 (GLP-1) that regulates blood sugar levels. If your blood sugar rises, the hormone tells the pancreas to produce insulin, which lowers blood sugar levels. GLP-1 also decreases “gastric emptying,” the process by which the stomach contents are moved into the small intestine, increasing the feeling of satiety by making one feel fuller faster and longer.
