A safe, non-invasive procedure that stimulates the production of healthy skin cells and collagen, using gentle exfoliation to abrade the surface of the skin, leaving a fresh and invigorated skin surface.
HOW IT WORKS
This treatment involves a hand-held device that blows crystals onto skin, which gently abrades or “polishes” the skin’s surface. Then, a vacuum tube removes the crystals and skin cells. A Microdermabrasion gently removes the skin’s topmost layer, which may result in new skin growth that is more elastic. The procedure also exfoliates and unclogs pores.
WHAT IS A MICRODERMABRASION?
Microdermabrasion is a safe, non-invasive procedure that stimulates the production of healthy skin cells and collagen. Microdermabrasion uses gentle exfoliation to abrade the surface of the skin, leaving a fresh and invigorated skin surface.
IS A MICRODERMABRASION RIGHT FOR ME?
Microdermabrasion is indicated for those who want to improve the appearance of superficial skin problems, such as fine lines, dull skin, brown spots, mild acne scars and age spots. It works on all skin types and produces subtle results, causing no skin color change or scarring.
WHERE ON THE BODY CAN MICRODERMABRASION BE USED?
A Microdermabrasion can be used to treat the face and chest.
WHAT IS A MICRODERMABRASION LIKE?
A Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical procedure where tiny crystals are sprayed onto the skin in a gentle abrasion technique that removes the dead outer layer of skin. The treatment typically takes about 30 minutes.
With the Microdermabrasion treatment there is only minimal downtime, with the skin fully recovering within 24 hours of the treatment. After Microdermabrasion, you may notice a slight redness to the treated areas and your skin can feel dry and tight (similar to a sunburn or windburn) for about 24 hours. This treatment can improve the appearance of superficial skin problems, and create softer, smoother skin.
HOW MANY OFFICE VISITS ARE REQUIRED?
After Microdermabrasion, patients note improvement in the smoothness, texture and overall condition of the skin. A series of 6-8 microdermbrasion treatments will produce the best results; however, the total number of treatments required varies and depends on the condition of the patient’s skin.
Please stop all Retinol/Retin-A products at least one week prior to treatment.
