Grilled Tomatoes


  • 1 firm, ripe tomato
  • 1/8 tsp garlic powder
  • salt & pepper (to taste)
  • fresh basil leaves, chopped and thinly sliced
  • 1/8 tsp onion powder


  1. Clean and rinse tomato, and cut in half. In a small bowl, combine salt, pepper, garlic, and onion powder.
  2. Preheat grill for medium/high. Season the tomato with mixture. Cook the tomato sliced side down for 4 minutes. Using a metal spatula, remove the tomatoes from the grill.
  3. Sprinkle tomatoes with basil and salt and pepper to taste.
